Part-Time Solid Waste Maintenance Worker (60-9)

The City of Hays is currently looking for Part Time Maintenance Workers within the Solid Waste Division. Duties include collecting and processing recyclable materials, general maintenance duties, grounds maintenance, and minor construction projects.

General operation time Monday-Thursday 6:30am - 3:00pm & Friday 6:30am – 12:30pm. Position has some flexibility in hours, but most Fridays are required and 2 other days in the week is preferred. Total hours between 18 - 23 hours per week.

Requirements
Valid driver’s license required. The ideal candidate would have a history of showing dependability, teamwork, and punctuality. Exposure to hazardous chemicals, machinery, excessive noise, and all types of weather conditions is expected. Strong communications & mechanical skills required.

Compensation
Pay Range: $10.30 - $13.30/hour.
