Join our team! Kingman EMS is seeking qualified candidates for Full-Time EMT. Our department is growing! Running over 1,000 calls in 2021, we are adding 2 full-time EMT positions to start January 1, 2022 as we transition to 24-hour shifts. Our providers are challenged by long transport times and aggressive bypass protocols; therefore, our providers often care for critical patients for long periods of time.
Kingman EMS operates under progressive protocols that allow our providers to care for patients to the fullest of their scope. Our providers enjoy up-to-date equipment including Zoll X-Series monitors, Stryker Powerload, Zoll Autopulse, and Zoll Ventilators.
Qualified candidates must hold a current Kansas EMT certification and valid driver’s license. While there is no living requirement, preference may be given to those willing to live within the city limits of Kingman. Preference may also be given to those willing to start as a part-time EMT in December to become fully orientated by the January 1, 2022 start date for full-time.
Trucks are staffed with a paramedic and EMT. At times, the truck may be staffed by two EMTs with an advanced provider on-call. There may be a rare occasion that an advanced provider may not be available.
The City of Kingman offers an excellent benefit package including KPERS retirement, 100% paid family health insurance, low-cost family dental, and a life insurance policy. Kingman EMS provides paid in-person training and a subscription to online training to achieve the necessary hours for re-certification. Kingman EMS also pays state re-certification fees as well as a KEMSA membership.
