WATER PLANT SUPERVISOR

Duties: Supervises the operation & maintenance of the City of Salina's Water Treatment Plant; performs a wide variety of work in the operation & maintenance of water treatment facilities, including lime softening water treatment plant, wells, booster pump stations, water storage facilities, & river intake; supervises 12-15 water plant operators & personnel; prepares employee shift schedules & work assignments; evaluates personnel performance as required; assists in preparing, analyzing, & filing of paper & digital operational, state, & federal reports; assists in long-range planning, budget preparation, & budget control; utilizes computer based software as necessary to complete assignments; administers safety program; investigates accidents & recommends preventative actions; acts as liaison with maintenance, laboratory, & operations personnel to assure the treated water meets established standards of quality.

Education: High school diploma or G.E.D.; must possess a Kansas Class IV Water Supply System Operator Certificate, or be able to obtain certification within one year after Kansas Department of Health & Environment (KDHE) examination eligibility.

Experience: Five years of progressive experience in lime softening water treatment or related work preferred; two years of experience in a supervisory capacity.

Requirements: Must live within 40-minutes response time; must possess a valid Kansas driver's license.

Starting pay: $20.85 -23.35/hr. (Full pay range: $20.85-33.27/hr.) EOE
